ABOUT HAVEN

Seaborn Chappell opened Haven with a simple vision: to create a warm, welcoming space where people can slow down, connect, and find refuge from the busyness of life. A longtime lover of coffee and community, he saw the need for a spot in Tuscaloosa that stayed open late—a place where students, night owls, and anyone needing a quiet moment could gather. More than just a coffee shop, Haven reflects his heart for hospitality and his faith in Jesus, offering a space where all are welcome. When he’s not behind the counter or dreaming up new ways to serve the community, Seaborn enjoys time with his wife, great conversations over a good cup of coffee, and finding ways to make Haven feel like home for everyone who walks through the door.

OUR SHOP PHILOSOPHY

A Refuge from the Rush

Life moves fast, but Haven is a place to slow down. Whether you're seeking a quiet moment with a good book, a deep conversation with a friend, or a space to clear your mind, we exist to be a welcoming retreat. Every detail—from the warm lighting to the carefully crafted drinks—is designed to help you exhale and feel at home.

Craftsmanship with Purpose

Every cup of coffee and every baked good at Haven is made with care and intention. We believe that quality matters, not just in what we serve, but in how we serve—creating something that brings joy, comfort, and connection. Coffee is more than a drink; it’s an experience, and we’re dedicated to making every visit something special.

Community at the Core

Haven isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a space where people come together. Whether through late-night study sessions, casual meetups, or special events, we want to be a place where friendships form and community grows. Everyone is welcome here, and we hope Haven feels like a second home—where good coffee and good company are always waiting.
